Ecco 2 Prototype


	As it turns out, the password system in Ecco 2 Alpha is totally different from that of Ecco 2 Final. But, it's also the same as the one in Ecco 1! The passwords from the alpha will work in the first game. (Just not the other way around.) Let's have a look, shall we?

Example #1

This level is pretty much the same as the Asterite Cave level with the entry teleport ring, except with one interesting difference. The two revolving Asterite globes are replaced with .. bubbles? Yep! You can't sing to it, and it doesn't show up on Sonar. The bubbles revolve properly, however.

First off, we go into E2A's 17th Level, the Vortex Queen's chamber and get killed..

.. now, we have a password from the .. um .. interestingly worded title screen for the stage. This would allow us to continue from here, if E2A's password feature worked. I'll just jot this down .. You .. Huffed .. Flying Battery Zone. OK, got it.

So next we head over to Ecco the Dolphin 1 and punch in the password ..

And up comes the Vortex Queen stage in the original! ... I'm sure this is just a coincidence ..

... god, that's freaky. And I don't mean the password.

Example #2

Since I'm all for driving points home, let's try another. This time, we go into the Vortex Future stage in E2A, number 15.

And here's our password. Grenwich Mean Time .. Burger Queen .. Federal Bureau of Investigation. Makes total sense. Now to Ecco 1.

Just type this in ..

And this time we got 'Ridge Water'!
