Level 2 Overview : Placeholder Intro Sequence
| |
This is the level that is host to the introduction sequence with the playing dolphins. This sequence is
from Ecco 1, but the rock tiles are Ecco 2 style, the background is different, the bubbles are huge, the
islands begin to appear sooner in the sequence, there is no music, and the dolphin movement patterns are
changed. Also, the 'camera' oddly dips downward as it starts.

The level names have been filled in sequentially here, as in most other
stages. This is really not a level and more of an intro sequence. Should
you select it from the Attract Mode editor however, you'll be able to control Ecco,
but no other dolphins show up.
Note the new rock formations, Ecco 2 style. Also a new background. As for the
rest of the level layout, it's basically the same as it was in the original. The
scripted dolphin movements are even the same. |
The islands in the background begin
to appear almost immediately, whereas there is just open water for most of
the time in Ecco 1's intro sequence. |
Now playing in the Attract Mode Editor. If you use Sonar here, it will come from the
wrong location, below Ecco.
Oddly enough, you can drown here. Note the massive quantity of oversized bubbles,
not the smaller ones you emit in other levels. This may have something to do with the
large bubbles that are loaded for use when the dolphins break the surface of the water
(in other stages, small bubbles only are used.)
