Level 11 Overview: Prototype Tube of Medusa

This level is the Tube of Medusa. It's mostly the same as the final version except the edges of the tubes look kind of damaged, the Medusa never stops following you, and the exit goes to the Vortex Future and not somewhere logical.

Here is where you enter the level. About the same as the final version, with some small differences I'm about to get into.

Compare the image from the Alpha on the left to the Final Version on the right. Swimming around the tube a bit, you can clearly see the background is finished and looks great as ever. Though it's hard to tell because the images aren't in motion, there's not the usual raster effect on the background making it sort of 'shimmer' in the distance (rising warm air?) like in the final version. Also, the edges of the tubes also don't wave around, they're just solid gray.

Here is a sonar map of the level. The Medusa doesn't show up on it, but at least Ecco does.

Here is the Medusa attacking. She is every bit as vicious as in the final version, so her graphics AND AI are both completed. She pretty much never leaves you alone here, unlike the final version were she eventually gives up.
