Game ROMs/ISOs

In this section, you can download the full versions of each Ecco the Dolphin game. These ROMs and ISOs can be played in emulators or on the real hardware. While these files are all provided free of charge, no technical support is guaranteed. If you have a problem, leave a comment on this section or in the message board, and someone will likely help you. However, do expect to have to fend for yourself. Enjoy the games!

Sega / Mega CD Versions

The Sega CD / Mega CD Ecco titles are provided here compressed in RAR format; you can decompress the files with WinRAR or a similar application. The resulting files can be opened in an emulator that supports Sega/Mega CD, I recommend KEGA Fusion for its relatively high level of accuracy. (Open the .cue file in KEGA Fusion.) Alternatively, you can burn these files, using the .cue file and Nero or another premastering application, and play them on the real hardware.

NOTE: The audio in the CD games provided here is encoded to MP3 at as low as 128 kbps. Bear in mind this is not the quality level of the original disc, and is mainly provided here for demonstration of how the audio tracks should be ordered when burned to disc, and given their correct filenames for use in emulators. I personally recommend downloading the lossless FLAC audio from the Music section to write in the place of the MP3s to your CD.

Sega Genesis/Megadrive Versions

The files below are archived in RAR format. You can open them with WinRAR, available here. These games are best experienced on the real system. However if you use an emulator, I recommend KEGA Fusion for its relatively high level of accuracy.

Just use Babel Fish to translate it (Almost every space,it puts “of” for some reason) and click Downloads. You’ll find it,and If you’ll let me,I can email you a selection of Ecco MD MIDIs for play instead of the CD tracks.

    What would be useful is if the Japanese version of Ecco the Dolphin were to be patched back to English. I like the extra levels and the useful checkpoint glyph system (although it IS buggy in Welcome to the Machine), and I prefer the Genesis version’s music to the CD version’s.

    All that was changed in Tides of Time CD are the music and videos, correct?

    Track 16 of the Ecco 1 CD skips, but seems like it’s an easy fix to overwrite and rename with the Japanese version? I don’t see a track 16 on the European release…

    There was an Ecco game released in Korea, on Genesis, IIRC… I can’t find the ROM anywhere (I searched “에코 더 돌핀 rom” on Naver (Korea’s Google), and can’t find a ROM of it). If anyone could, it’d be greatly appreciated, seeing as I speak Korean.
    “에코 더 돌핀” might not be the name of the game, but I don’t know what it’d be called if that isn’t the name… (“에코 더 돌핀” reads “Ek’o deo dolp’in”)
