  1. Great job with the site, but, Ecco: Defender of the Future has been out for 7 years. If possible, try to update the site WITH Ecco DotF.

  2. Thanks :) I haven’t documented DotF here because it was not developed by most of the original team, and does not follow the original storyline. It was written by someone entirely different than Ecco’s creator, a sci-fi author. So I do not consider it to be part of the same series.

There’s much documentation of DotF out there already– However if you’d like to put together a story page for that game, for completeness’ sake, please contact me and I’d probably add it.

  3. Unfortunately, my friend told me to tell you about DotF. But hey no worries. Still, this is an Oscar-worthy site.

  4. Command Override. Do you think you could add DotF to the site? Epicenter, although DotF is not part of the original story, or was not made by the same team, DotF is still part of the Ecco series.

  5. Epicenter, I haven’t gotten a response in days! Have you started posting the story to Defender of the Future yet?!

  6. You can find that here:

I won’t be writing my own at this time since, #1 DoTF is part of a different series with a different storywriter and development team, and #2 my hands are full with the 16-bit and 8-bit Ecco titles. And when my work is done with these, I must focus my attentions on Kolibri for 32X. I hope you’ll understand. Thanks!

  7. No worries. Good luck with that. If you need some help, let me know. By the way, did you know my nickname in school is Ecco?

  8. Listen to this. I just recieved some comic books titled “Ecco the Dolphin: The Past Revealed”, and it tells about Ecco’s “past”. Would these books be considered part of the original series if it features Ecco from the original series?

  9. I’d be very interested in adding these. Were they the comics from the UK? If you were to scan them, I’d gladly upload them. I think Ecco fans are due a high-res version of the comics. Thanks. :)

  10. Hmm… Since neither my friend or me have a scanner, how about an addition to the story area, and I will type you the story in a message?

  11. You can email it to epicenter713@gmail.com — Thanks! :)

  12. Alright. You might like it. Apparently, the comic was written in 2003 to honor the 10th annivensary of Ecco, and it takes place a little bit before the first Ecco, and the story ends right at the beginning of the first Ecco.

  13. Oh, and I’ll fill you in on the story as soon as I find the comic.

  14. I found out the origin of the comics. These are North America reprints of the UK comics. These comics are rarer than gold itself!!! Just they’re not as valuable… You want to know the difference between the UK versions and North America reprints?

  15. Sure. And these were printed in 2003? That’d be odd.

  16. Well… If the fans don’t mind a little language in the North American reprints. My friend told me he bought them in Ontario. But, yeah it is kind of weird.

  17. Supposedly, these comics were secretly made in 2003, and released into the publishing company’s stands in 2004. They only sold a small handful of copies. The copies that didn’t sell were burned in a furnace, and then the company promised that they would never make comics like those again, hence the reason why these books are so rare. They are good, though.

  18. OK, that last part is getting far-fetched.

  19. Got a little carried away there. Got multiple things on my mind.

  20. Mobius 1, I was the one that gave you those comics. Epicenter, I gave those comics to Mobius 1 because he was begging me for them.

  21. Epicenter, Trellia is one of Ecco’s descendents.

  22. Actually, Ed (Ecco’s creator and the storywriter) wouldn’t say if Trellia was Ecco’s descendent, conclusively– well, actually, his answer was partly ambiguous. Here it is:

“Ed Annunziata: Trellia is from the future making Ecco her ancestor. My lips are sealed regarding the split time streams.” (see the full interview for more context)

  23. So, when Trellia said in Ecco 2 these words “I am Trellia, and you are my ancestor,” or whatever, she may have been lying?

  24. Anyway, for the Ecco 1 thread, from what my sources confirmed, The beam that destroyed Atlantis in the present was fired by a super-weapon that the Vortex built. This weapon was never shown or mentioned in the game.

  25. Lol Mobius. Cheese with your ass burgers?

Anyway, wonderfully explained, good job Epicenter.

  26. I am NOT Mobius! He uses my E-mail! Do not make fun of him because he is naive!!!

  27. Unplug your internets this instant.
    You’re polluting my Dark Sea.

  28. I’ll keep my mouth shut…

  29. Sockpuppeteering get

  30. And the award for least coherent comment goes to…

Wait.. story? Sock puppets? I think I get it. Well, maybe not.

  31. I have to get my ass in gear and write these stories… xX School really eats one’s time.
